  • Two years of successful Alliance Licensed Ministry Experience (ALME)

  • Curriculum development/revision
  • TBD role in team business

Timeline for Deployment:

Summer 2017

General Information:

More detailed information about this creative-access country, a land of many needs and opportunities, will be provided during the process of application and appointment.

This team focuses on developing key church leaders through discipling, equipping, and casting vision, mobilizing them to go to the places least reached with the gospel. People who value ministering to physical, emotional, and spiritual deprivation and are willing to make this investment are needed. Many peacemaking training opportunities abound to benefit believers and nonbelievers in this country.

Work and Living Environment:

This is a rapidly growing city of more than 10 million people. Team members live in apartments within a few minutes’ walk of one another and the office. Travel is by subway, bus, taxi, motor scooters, or bicycle. Grocery stores are conveniently located.

Status of Christian Witness:

To varying degrees the team is involved with a large local church. There are a number of churches throughout the city, yet many people have never heard the good news. The number of Christians in this city has increased in recent years; a local seminary serving six provinces is located here through which the team has opportunity to mentor future international workers and leaders. In some areas of the country there are no Christians.

Language Expectations:

Language is an essential part of peacemaking ministry. Those who do not know the language will attend language study. International workers receive two years of intensive language and cultural study. The goal is to speak, read, and write the language at a functional level to mentor, teach, and train others.

Health Considerations:

Local hospitals are average. (Depending on the area of placement, some major medical issues will need to be treated in another location.) Lots of walking is required; stairs are common; and there is limited wheelchair access. Periodic poor air quality can aggravate asthma.

Expectations for Spouse:

The successful applicant’s wife is expected to engage meaningfully in fulfilling ministry objectives based on her gifts, training, the team’s needs, and her family’s needs.

Children’s Educational Plan and Options:

Educational options include an excellent Christian-run international school, local schools, and homeschooling.

Compensation Package:

This position is designated to be fully funded through the Great Commission Fund (GCF). Please visit our compensation page for details on how U.S. Alliance international workers are supported. We offer a comprehensive package for this position, covering all costs related to a monthly living allowance, housing, travel, children’s education, and full benefits. GCF-funded workers share responsibility for raising GCF dollars from Alliance churches and other sources.
